David Pipe
Managing Director
With a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, David joined John Pipe Ltd in 1979, having been a Bridge Engineer on M25/M3 Junction. Initially managing the South Wales operation, he moved down to Dorset to spearhead expansion plans. Moving up to MD in the late 80s, he has overseen the move into Hampshire and the 2007 re-brand. He holds a current IATA Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate. David is a keen keelboat racing yachtsman and also enjoys skiing as often as he can in the winter.
John W.R. Pipe
Works Director, Dorset (Poole)
Named after his father who started the Company, John joined the family firm in January 1997, having formerly run his own business as a landscape gardener, fencing contractor and tree surgeon until December 1996. He has brought to the company new ideas in case making techniques and has strengthened the management structure. John is an avid motorcycle enthusiast when he is able to spare the time.
Jon Bradley
Works Director, Hampshire (Southampton)
Has overall responsibility for the Hampshire operations since joining the company in 1995. With a degree in Engineering Jon’s knowledge and former manufacturing experience provides a secure and solid foundation in meeting with the demands of most project based operations. He has brought the essential management skills necessary to run what has become a busy branch of the company. Jon is also a holder of a certificate for dangerous goods for Road & Sea Freight. Jon is an established fly fisherman competing at national & local club level. He also enjoys keeping fit and riding his Harley Davidson in his spare time.
Miles Holden
Sales Executive, Sales Team
Miles joined the company in 1999 and has added strength to the company's Management structure. He has been part of a very successful team that has consistently supported the growth of the company from the Hampshire branch. Miles attributes this success to "Our ability to listen to our customers’ requirements and being able to come up with cost effective, professional solutions to meet their needs and expectations.” Miles enjoys coaching cricket for under 15's and is busy playing during the summer months for a local side.
Philip Michael
Sales Executive, Sales Team
Philip brings over 25 years freight forwarding experience to the company having started his career in a manufacturing company. His focus is very much on understanding our clients' needs and then supporting them with the appropriate service. Philip is a keen sports fan and is chairman of a boys' football club in Havant.
Phil Williams
Production Manager, Production Team, Hampshire (Southampton)
Philip joined the company in 1977 as a packer in the South Wales Branch and moved to Poole when the company relocated from Wales. Phil then moved to Hampshire with the opening of the Chandlers Ford Branch in 1995. Phil is a valuable member of the team especially with his extensive knowledge of commercial packing requirements and it's techniques. Having packed almost anything you can imagine, Phil takes enormous pride in his quality of work and attention to customer detail ensuring we meet all targets and deadlines. Phil is involved in coaching Rugby with local under 15 sides during the week-ends.
Nathan Kennedy
Operations Manager, Production Team, Dorset (Poole)
Nathan joined the Company in November 2008 to take over the whole of the Poole production, from a background in national warehousing & distribution management. Married with a young family, he enjoys camping holidays and helping out with local voluntary youth groups.
Liz Tyler
Production Assistant, Production Team, Dorset (Poole)
Liz joined John Pipe International in July 2007 and brings with her extensive experience within Freight organisation and management. Following the return of Karen Crowther from her maternity leave, Liz has now moved into the Production Office. She recently came to live in Dorset and now enjoying the lovely beaches and coast walks that the area provides in her spare time.
Catherine Swinstead
Production Assistant, Production Team, Hampshire (Southampton)
Catherine re-joined the Company in February full time, providing administrative support for the packing division. She is happy to undertake all tasks and has a friendly and helpful approach when liasing with customers, staff and subcontractors. Catherine enjoys keeping fit and likes long walks in the countryside
Lynne Moors
Production Assistant, Production Team, Dorset (Poole)
Lynne joined the Company only recently in March 2010 from a background in sales of Ground Support Equipment for Airports. Her role is to carry out all the administration for current work and customer contact is a major part. She enjoys holidaying in the sun, trying to keep fit and spending time with her family and friends.
Debbie Taylor
Production Assistant, Production Team, Hampshire (Southampton)
Debbie started working in the Chandlers Ford Offices in December 2008. She enjoys being part of the production team in an administrative role. Her background has always been with exporting companies (medical equipment and foodstuffs). Debbie lives with her 10 year old son who takes up a lot of her spare time. She enjoys socialising and going on holiday!
Michelle Shirley
Freight Coordinator, Freight Team, Hampshire (Southampton)
Michelle joined the company in 1995 with the opening of the Chandlers Ford Branch. She has gained valuable experience over the years as to customers’ multifarious requirements. Michelle has a good export background with expertise in letters of credit. Her personality and good sense of humour help in the day to day running of the office. Michelle is also a holder of a current IATA Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate. Michelle enjoys keeping fit in her spare time by running in the Great South Run and working out in the gym. She uses this to good effect in the running of the office and ensuring that matters run smoothly.
Karen Crowther
Freight Coordinator, Freight Team, Dorset (Poole)
Joining when Active was taken over in 2002, she has built upon her years as a senior export clerk with a major international exporter. With her friendly attitude, she has been popular with customers old and new. She has expert knowledge of documentary credits (Letters of Credit), vital in helping exporters get paid! She has a daughter at senior school and a toddler who keeps her very busy out of work.
Christine Jones
Company Accountant, Health & Safety, Quality and Accounts teams, Dorset (Poole)
Joined John Pipe Limited in 1996 as Costing and Invoice Clerk but had to move up rapidly when our Accountant moved to Australia. Chris has brought great professionalism to her post overseeing all Company accounting matters. She produces the monthly reports enabling the Company to keep close control over all financial aspects.
Diane Wood
Costing & Invoicing, Health & Safety, Quality and Accounts teams, Dorset (Poole)
Joined John Pipe Limited in 2000. Along with costing for work done in the Poole Branch, Diane produces all the invoices for the Company coping with the very busy end of month rush. She often liases with customers over their concerns in her friendly and helpful manner.
Penny Lloyd
Wages & Purchase ledger, Health & Safety, Quality and Accounts teams, Dorset (Poole)
Joining in 2003 as a part time wages clerk, Penny has had to learn many other aspects of the general administration of the Company. Coping with a new labour time system in 2006, her businesslike and willing approach has brought great efficiency to the Accounts Department.
