A packing solution for a Satellite

The Problem

When the new inmarsat satellite was to be blasted off into space, it had to be done from South America. Once on site assembly of the equipment was going to be difficult with inexperienced ground staff and a tight schedule. And one piece of the assembly had to be turned over.

The Solution
Create a packing case with the ability to rotate the equipment upright in a controlled manner. So that before lifting it from the packing case and assembling the whole MSGE (Mechanical Ground Service Equipment) it could be oriented properly and safely.

The Outcome
The ability to move a very tall piece of equipment by normal mode of transit and allowing assembly on site by “primitive” means and a happy customer!
